The **[[http://www.psidev.info/index.php?q=node/60|PSI MI format]]** is a means of exchanging data on molecular interactions, maintained by the HUPO Proteomics Standards Initiative. BioGRID interactions are annotated with the terms described in the **[[experimental_systems|Experimental Evidence Codes]]** section to distinguish between different types of evidence supporting an interaction. 

**This format is not recommended for new projects and is obsolete. Please use [[psi-mi_xml_version_2.5|PSI-MI Version 2.5]] files for new projects.**
